HOLY WEEK 2011

"WHAT TO DO THIS HOLY WEEK?"- a question that needed to be answered right away since I compromised myself to refrain from using the internet as part of my, ahem, sacrifice this Lent. I didn't want boredom to hit me while waiting for the day that my fingers strike again the keyboard and my eyes enjoy what's on the screen.

So, my Holy Week went like this:

HOLY MONDAY
-First day of my NO INTERNET Policy, what to do? I had no idea. So, I just enjoyed the day with good food with great chikahan & lots of laughs with my cousins.
-I avoided to make a single sin, but I just couldn't. Some people were really getting into my nerves today. Exchanged words with them in a high tone. But I knew I was the MORE understanding one (haha), so the best thing to do was to cut that throwing words session and keep my mouth shut. HAIL TO THE QUEEN! Chos.

HOLY TUESDAY
-Time to get down and dirty! I initiated the idea of putting the stuff that we didn't need anymore (and just occupying lots of space) out of the house, separating them (labeled as bote, plastik, lata), and selling at the junk shop. My cousin also collected their junks and waited for us to finish our own so we could now sell 'em together. Back to the house, we found two useless electric fans, obviously not working anymore. In my head: "Haha! Mahal 'to!"... It was just my cousin, sister & two others who brought those stuff to sell, I didn't go with them. After a couple of minutes, I could see them arriving. My cousin's face was in frown of disappointment, mixed with an "about-to-laugh" grin:
ME: "How much?" (asking the money she earned from their junkies)
HER: "26!!!"
That gave me a great laugh! I LOL-ed at it! It really killed my butt! :D
Though we didn't get the money as much as we thought, the important thing is... WE HAD FUN! :)

HOLY WEDNESDAY
-Set the alarm at 4, got up passed 5! Oh well, that's okay, it's still early.
-Got my breakfast. Went back upstairs and stayed there at about 9 (that's pretty long, huh). While watching some reality shows. I heard somebody's voice. I blurted out to myself: "Oh that's Trisha's! She's early today huh.". (Trisha is my ever talkative cousin. She often makes me laugh with her jokes and the way she tells stories.) I just ignored her freaking voice and continued watching. When I decided to go down and went out, just at the balcony (HUWAW! Sosyal! Chos.), I saw their housemate and shouted: "Nasaan si Shasha?" (that's Trisha). She answered, she's already at the school with mah sistah. (The school she's referring to is owned by my uncle. It's vacation, so no classes. It only means, we can go there and do whatever we want.). An electricity passed through my body & said: "Shiz! Why didn't they tell me?! Ugh!". After a few seconds, I told myself: "Justine, if there's a will, there's a way!". Then a bubble came up over my head: "Hmmm...ride my bike!". When I checked the bicycle, the tyre at the back was flat. BUMMER! That, again, angered me. After hundreds of milliseconds, I texted Trisha "Sunduin mo ako!" and she did. When we got to school, my younger sister and Trisha's sibling were already under the sun playing badminton...and so I joined them. It only lasted for less than an hour, but felt great...not just about sweating it out, but also the blast I had while playing! :)

MAUNDY THURSDAY
-My day started off as GRRRRR... (you already know what it means).
-I decided to take a "2 day All Liquid program" (and if I still could, 'til Black Saturday), meaning NO hard or anything solid to put in my mouth, just something to drink.
-In the afternoon, as planned, I went to Bayan (this is how we call the Business Center of the town). But out of plan, I was with younger sis and three female cousins...this gotta be fun! Three of us five got their haircut. After that, bought some drinks & THEY had their fishballs (ME? Not included. Remember, all liquid today...) Then headed off to the park, specifically at the children's playground. There, more and more chikas (a big percentage of it was about Trisha's "rumored" boyfriend. Hahaha!). Our "not-so-new" neighbour, a former actress, was also there. It was a girls bond. A fun aftie! :)

GOOD FRIDAY
-This day was a roller coaster one.One moment laughing, the next second pissed. Nothing extraordinary was done...
-While working on my special project (heehah), just chatted with eldest sis. And we've talked about the past Holy Weeks (the ones we experienced when we were way younger) we had...on how things have evolved from then up to the present, where the younger ones aren't briefed on how to observe the Semana Santa anymore. I didn't attend the Siete Palabras thingy (I did 5 years ago). But as part of our grief since Jesus died on the cross today, I wore black. That's it. Nothing special.
-Day 2 of All Liquid Program = SUCCESS! :)

BLACK SATURDAY
-Sometimes, you thought you could. But things just ain't agreeing with ya! Forcing yourself to sleep doesn't help. Yeah,it doesn't. Just like last night... Because of the caffeine of the coffee I had at 8PM (Friday), I ended up staying up 'til five in the morning.
-They say, if you get a haircut on Black Saturday, you hair will grow faster. And so I did. Haha! It's not actually a heavy cut, just an inch trim. This is my second one this year. The first was last January 21 (with a funny story behind my decision to get it done earlier than as planned). I usually get my annual haircut a day or a few days before Chinese New Year (I'm not a Chinese, though.) to shoo the bad vibes away! I don't know why I did it again today... :))
-And..... bought somthing 'kinda' special today. Will show you soon! :))

EASTER SUNDAY
-My internet comeback. Yahooh! Haha.
-After painting my Easter eggs, watched the "The Royal Engagement" on ABS-CBN. Gawd! Prince Harry and I will be having that one too, in the future! Haha! CHOS.
-Nothing more...

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!
