Earth Hour 2011

This is the third year I've been participating an Earth Hour. Last year, Earth Hour 2010, about 15 million Filipinos participated and broke the record as the most numbered who turned off the lights. Congrats 'Pinas! :)

In 2009, my first time, I had a funny experience... My ever-talkative cousin was with us that day(night). Before it hit 8:30 PM, she was already there.....talking! :D So the one hour lights off went on.

COUSIN: "Oh, 30 minutes has passed."
ME: "Yes, it's been 30 minutes of your non-stop talking! HAHA.*my Tita beside us laughed*  And even more than that, 'cause you were already here before 8:30!" :D

This year, I planned to do it again and I DID. Have retweeted some tweets to help promote and join the Earth Hour. Here's one from Ms. D.

While waiting to put the lights on at 9:30, I was checking twitter (err... just on phone :D),and laughed at those stories of the ones I'm following who also joined the Earth Hour. Some  were scared 'cause it's too dark, they might have seen ghosts. HAHA. I read one who bumped his head to the mirror 'coz he couldn't see it. Those were just a few. Funny but if you think beyond that, it's for a cause, they want to do their part as earth always does its part for/to us.
After an hour of lights off, I felt great because I helped save Mother Earth even just for 60 minutes.
But... I hope we all do this not just every Earth Hour, which happens only once a year. Let's do this as often as we can! This is not just for us, but for the generations to come, for the children of our children... :)
